David Beckham has reportedly approached Lionel Messi over a potential move to Inter Miami.
Messi has a clause in his Barcelona contract which allows the Argentina international to decide at the end of each season whether he wants to leave the club.
The agreement is believed to be in place so that the 32-year-old can choose exactly when he wants to return to Argentina to bring an end to his career.
However, according to Cataluyna Radio, Beckham's newly-formed club, who will take part in their first MLS season in 2020, have contacted the attacker over a potential move to North America.
Inter Miami- yet to appoint a head coach - have also been linked with moves for Messi's club teammate Luis Suarez and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani ahead of their debut campaign.
Messi is yet to represent Barca in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign as the South American continues to battle a calf problem, which has also ruled him out of this weekend's clash with Valencia.
