David Beckham is reportedly hoping to secure the services of Barcelona star Xavi for his MLS franchise in Miami.
The former England international's American club is not due to begin playing competitively until 2017, while the Spaniard's contract at the Camp Nou expires in 2016.
Although Xavi has previously declared that he wishes to see out his career at Barcelona, the midfielder could be open to the Miami opportunity providing he is fit enough to continue playing, the Daily Mail reports.
Beckham and his business partners are currently seeking a location to build a stadium, with the waterfront at Biscayne Bay earmarked as a potential site for the team's base.
