Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has taken to Twitter to congratulate teammate Sergio Busquets on signing a new long-term contract with the Catalan outfit.

Busquets, 25, penned the agreement with the Spanish champions on Tuesday afternoon, as revealed by a statement on the club's official website on Monday.

"Great renewal for the team, congrats Sergio Busquets!" Fabregas tweeted on Tuesday.

Fabregas has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, but it is understood that the former Arsenal midfielder will remain in Spain for at least another season.
