The father of Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is confident that his son will sign a new long-term contract with the Catalan outfit.
It has been reported that contract talks have broken down between the two parties, but Jose Antonio Iniesta believes that an agreement with the 29-year-old will soon be reached.
"Those who know Andres, who has spent 18 years at Barcelona and is now 29, will not doubt his words," Iniesta Snr told La Xarxa.
"Andres is still important for Barca's style of play. The subject of Andres's issues is led by his agent Ramon Sostres. So, whatever I say about the news that has come out would not be telling the truth."
Iniesta's current deal expires in 2015.
