Barcelona president Joan Laporta reportedly asks Ronald Koeman to make more use of Samuel Umtiti and Riqui Puig during the closing months of 2021.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta reportedly wishes to see Samuel Umtiti and Riqui Puig involved in Barcelona's plans for the first half of the season.

Despite the pair being made available for transfer by the Catalan giants during the summer, neither player received a proposal deemed to be acceptable by club officials.

Umtiti and Puig were not given a single minute of La Liga football during August, a further sign that Ronald Koeman does not want them in his first-team squad.

However, Marca claims that Laporta is keen for the Dutchman to make more use of the two players during the remainder of the year.

Puig and Koeman have allegedly never seen eye to eye, leaving the academy graduate with just 12 starts to his name even at the age of 22.

While Koeman is said to hold Umtiti in a higher regard due to his injury problems, the Frenchman is no longer deemed good enough for a starting role. body check tags ::
