Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that the club are interested in Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian striker has hit 34 goals this season for Atletico Madrid and is one of the most sought-after forwards in world football.
AS Monaco are reported to be interested in the former Porto man and Laporta confirmed that the recently-crowned La Liga champions are also monitoring Falcao's situation.
"Of course Barcelona are always interested in a player of his ability," Laporta told Sky Sports News.
"He is a great player and one of the best strikers in the world. It is not always the president who decides such [transfers], sometimes it is up to the sporting director to decide.
"He fits in with the philosophy. The philosophy is from Johan Cruyff. It is about attacking all the time, putting pressure on the opponent and putting pressure on the ball. You know we put Barca at the top of world football."
Laporta's latest term as president ended in June 2010.
