Leeds United have reportedly informed Barcelona that they do not have the funds required to sign Brazil international Rafinha during this summer's transfer window.
The Whites were said to be weighing up a move for the 27-year-old, who is back at Camp Nou after spending the 2019-20 campaign on loan with Celta Vigo.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca approached the Premier League side over a possible deal and informed them that the attacker is available for £14m.
However, the report claims that Leeds made it clear to the Catalan giants that they 'cannot financially manage' to sign the South American before the deadline at the start of October.
Rafinha has made 90 first-team appearances for Barca but is not thought to be in the plans of the club's new head coach Ronald Koeman, who has taken over from Quique Setien.
Leeds will start their 2020-21 Premier League season away to Liverpool on September 12.
