Barcelona have announced that Javier Mascherano has signed a four-year extension to his contract.
The new deal will see the Argentine's buyout clause set at €100m(£78.5m).
Mascherano, who arrived at the Nou Camp from Liverpool in 2010, said that he is "very happy" with his new agreement.
The 28-year-old posted on Twitter: "As FC Barcelona has made it known I have come to an agreement on the extension of my contract with the club. Very happy to be living this!"
Mascherano has won six major honours since joining the Catalan outfit.
