Javier Mascherano has reportedly informed his agent Walter Tamer that he is not interested in moving to China, amid suggestions that the Barcelona centre-back is wanted in the Super League.
The Argentina international was linked with a move away from Camp Nou in the summer transfer window, but ultimately penned a new three-year contract with the Spanish giants.
Recent reports have claimed that a host of Chinese Super League clubs are preparing offers for the 32-year-old, but according to Sport, Mascherano has asked his representative Tamer to turn down any approaches.
Mascherano's spot in the Barcelona XI this season has come under threat from new signing Samuel Umtiti, while Jeremy Mathieu was preferred alongside Gerard Pique in last weekend's La Liga clash with Celta Vigo.
