Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has reaffirmed that he is close to signing a new contract with the French giants.

The 29-year-old has been linked on and off with a return to former club Barcelona, whom he left for PSG in a record £198m transfer in 2017.

Neymar is currently due to become a free agent in a year's time, meaning that he would be able to discuss a free transfer with foreign clubs from next January.

However, the Brazilian stated earlier this week that he has never been happier than he is this season, and he has now indicated that a contract announcement may be imminent.

"We are in talks with PSG. There is nothing pressing," he told RMC Sport. "Everything is nearly sorted. I feel at ease. I feel truly very happy here at PSG."

Neymar has scored 14 goals and set up nine more in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.

PSG are also hopeful of reaching an agreement with fellow superstar forward Kylian Mbappe, who himself has just 14 months to run on his contract. body check tags ::
