Barcelona are reportedly preparing to open contract talks with Spanish international Pedro.
Despite scoring 14 times in 32 games for the Catalan outfit this season, the attacker has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou at the end of the season.
A number of European outfits, including teams from the Premier League, are believed to be monitoring developments with a view to a summer move.
However, according to AS, Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has started primarily talks with Pedro's representative over a new long-term contract.
The attacker's current deal expires in 2016.
