Sergi Roberto has agreed a contract extension with Barcelona to keep him at the club until the end of the 2021-22 season.
The Catalan giants had been eager to tie down the versatile Spanish defender as his previous deal, due to expire next year, included a £35m release clause.
Fresh terms for Roberto caps what has been an impressive month for Barcelona on the transfer front, as Gerard Pique has also penned a new deal, while Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina have been added to the playing squad.
Confirming the news on their official website, Barca announced that the sum now required to trigger the 25-year-old's buyout clause has been set at £441m.
Reports in the Spanish press suggest that centre-back Samuel Umtiti will be the next player to put pen to paper.
