Southampton are eyeing a move for out-of-favour Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer to solve their goalscoring crisis, according to a report.
The Saints have failed to score in eight of their last nine home games and have just five goals in seven outings overall in the Premier League this term.
Boss Mauricio Pellegrino is said to be keen to bolster his attacking ranks early in the New Year, with Alcacer seen as a potential option to improve Southampton's fortunes in front of goal.
Pellegrino favours a loan deal with an option to buy, but The Sun reports that Barca are hoping to offload the 24-year-old permanently following his failure to settle.
Alcacer joined the Catalan giants from Valencia in a £30m deal in 2016, managing just six goals in his maiden campaign at Camp Nou and none in his two appearances this term.
