Departing Barcelona midfielder Xavi will be presented as an Al-Sadd player on Thursday, the Qatari club have announced.

The veteran Catalonian, who has spent all his career at the Nou Camp, played his last game for the club in their Champions League final win against Juventus.

Al-Sadd claimed on their Twitter page that Xavi would be presented as their player at their stadium's conference facilities at 5pm local time.


Xavi's contract with the Doha-based club runs for two years with the option to extend for a further year.
