Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has said that he would love Lionel Messi to join him at the club.
The two played together at international level for Argentina, and Zanetti has admitted that while there is little chance of him leaving Barcelona, he would be an ideal singing for the Italian side.
"We have always had very good relations," he said in a documentary called El Mundo Leo. "Leo is a simple, normal boy. The moments that we had together [with Argentina] were great, even if in some cases we were not able to win. But the result in some cases is a secondary factor.
"Messi would be ideal for Inter, but I know that he's very happy at Barcelona and in everything he does, he never ceases to amaze me. We always expect great things from him when he's on the field because he is the best.
"But Leo has always been a great, not only for what he does on the field, but also off it. He was truly a great player to play with and I'm happy to have had the privilege of playing a part in his beginnings."
Inter are currently fifth in the Serie A table.
