Lee Johnson "focused" on ending losing Barnsley run

Lee Johnson says that Barnsley will look to 'impose themselves' on Scunthorpe United this weekend as they aim to pick up a third Glanford Park win of the season.

Barnsley manager Lee Johnson has insisted that his side have what it takes to halt their current losing streak.

The Tykes have lost five on the bounce in October, most recently against fellow strugglers Fleetwood Town, to drop into the relegation zone.

This weekend's meeting with Scunthorpe United provides Barnsley with a chance to get their campaign back on track, though, and they have fond memories of Glanford Park this season with two wins there already in cup competition.

Speaking to the club's official website, under-fire Johnson said: "I'm the world's worst loser and I have been since I was five years old. I'm not hiding the fact that I'm hurting but I am delighted that we have a game on Saturday as it gives us a chance to end this horrible feeling.

"We've got an opportunity and we have to take it. We've had a good week training and we'll get the lads firing. Our fans will be there in force as always and they have backed us fantastically all season. We go into the game depleted as a squad but I still believe that my eleven will be strong enough to get a result.

"Scunthorpe have found their strength again, they've got a good side. We go there having beaten them twice previously and everyone is now focused on doing that again. It's about us imposing our game on them."

Barnsley follow up Saturday's match with a trip to take on Coventry City three days later.
