Shrewsbury Town have confirmed the appointment of Micky Mellon as the club's new manager.
The 42-year-old, who has signed a rolling one-year contract, replaces Michael Jackson following the team's relegation to League Two.
However, Jackson will remain at New Meadow as Mellon's assistant coach.
"We are delighted to confirm Micky as our new first-team manager," chairman Roland Wycherley told the club's official website.
"As a club we carefully considered our next step because it was a very important decision for our football club. But having gone through that process, we agreed that Micky fitted our brief perfectly.
"Micky represents all the strong values we hold so dearly as a football club, he is a very passionate person and everyone is looking forward to working with him."
Mellon's last role in management was as an assistant coach at Barnsley between December 2012 and March 2014.
