Barnsley have announced that Adam Hammill has agreed a new contract with the club.

The winger, who had a previous two-year spell with the Tykes between 2009 and 2011, returned to Oakwell on a short-term deal in November following his release from Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Having made six appearances for Lee Johnson's side since then, Hammill has now committed to fresh terms that run until June 2016.

"I'm delighted to get my immediate future sorted out and commit myself to the club for the remainder of the season," the 27-year-old told the club's official website.

"Since coming back I've enjoyed every minute and I've said all along that I would love to remain here beyond January. We have a great bunch of lads here and I really feel at home, so I didn't give it a second thought when I got the opportunity to sign until June."

Hammill has found the net on two occasions since he returned to the South Yorkshire outfit.
