Leroy Lita is reportedly on the verge of signing for League One side Barnsley.
The 29-year-old has been without a club since the end of last season when he was released by Swansea City.
It did appear that he had found new employment when he went on trial with Ipswich Town last month, but despite scoring for the Tractor Boys in a friendly encounter, he failed to earn a permanent deal at Portman Road.
That has alerted Barnsley boss Danny Wilson, who has held positive talks with the striker, according to Sky Sports News.
It is expected that Lita will be offered a one-year contract at Oakwell.
