Barnsley reportedly want to speak with former Tykes defender Darren Moore about the vacant manager's job at Oakwell.
Moore is fondly remembered for two seasons with Barnsley and is on a list of potential options to coach the Championship strugglers, according to Sky Sports News.
The 38-year-old is currently a youth-team coach with West Bromwich Albion but is thought to have moved up the pecking order after Sean O'Driscoll and Terry Butcher both turned down the chance to be Barnsley boss.
Caretaker manager David Flitcroft remains in charge of first-team affairs and will pick the side to face Leeds United in tomorrow afternoon's Yorkshire derby.
