Bastia midfielder Jerome Rothen has said that the atmosphere and location of playing for the club makes up for the lack of facilities.
He was keen to point out, however, that Bastia is an ambitious place for players to come and play their football.
"A player signs for Bastia for different reasons," he told BeIN Sport "He signs because of the club's ambition - these days they're competing with wealthier Ligue 1 teams - but also for the quality of life you get here.
"The beautiful climate and scenery make up a bit for the poor facilities at the club and the training ground that isn't fitting of a Ligue 1 club. The sun and the sea help the players forget that and that's why the atmosphere is brilliant."
Bastia are currently 13th in Ligue 1.
