The lowdown on how the teenage winger performed.

English winger Jadon Sancho continued his impressive season as Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in Der Klassiker at Signal Iduna Park clash.

Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at the impact of the teenager.

Body Language

As always, Sancho looked to get on the ball quickly and had an early opportunity on the counter. Despite not being able to capitalise and the disappointment of Dortmund falling behind, the 18-year-old did not let his head drop and was instrumental as the home side tried to fight their way back into the match before turning things around with a dominant second-half performance.

Link-up Play

Sancho came into the game with a league-high six assists, and showed his threat early on, when almost getting clear on goal, but for a timely sliding tackle from Franck Ribery. The former Manchester City youngster was again looking to capitalise at the far post on any handling error from Manuel Neuer following a break down the other flank by Jacob Bruun Larsen. At the start of the second half, it was Sancho’s through ball which sent Marco Reus clear and resulted in a penalty as Dortmund went on to equalise. Another drive into the box and clipped cross deserved better than Paco Alcacer failing to hit the ball into an empty net. Fittingly, Sancho also played a part in the build-up to Dortmund’s decisive third goal.

Impact

It was another impressive display from the winger, who once again did not look out of place among some of Europe’s top players. Always a threat down the flank, Sancho’s determination and pace helped keep Bayern on the back foot and without his positive intervention, the final outcome could well have been very different for the Bundesliga leaders as the squad now head off into the international break.
