Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira reportedly expects Watford loanee Andre Carrillo to sign a longer-term contract at Vicarage Road.
Carrillo, who moved to Hertfordshire from Portugal on loan for the season last summer, has an option in his one-year deal to make the move permanent.
According to Portuguese source O Jogo, Vieira is bracing himself for the departure of the player, and is planning for life at the club without the 26-year-old.
Carrillo, who has made 26 appearances in his time at the Hornets, has started 15 of Watford's 27 Premier League games so far this term.
The Peruvian international's last league goal for Javi Gracia's side came in a 2-1 defeat against Swansea City in December.
