Birmingham City striker Lee Novak has insisted that the club have set their targets high ahead of the new Championship campaign.
The Blues finished in 12th place last season, but Novak believes that he and his teammates should be looking to improve on that position this season.
The 24-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "We have spoken about the aims and we know what we want to do. This is a massive club, a Premier League club, and there is no reason why we can't be up there pushing.
"I don't think many would have predicted the teams that were there last season. So there's no reason why we can't be.
"We have got the team here, a young team with experienced lads, and everyone wants to aim high. There is no point aiming lower and then thinking you have achieved something."
Novak moved to Birmingham in May after ending his four-year spell at Huddersfield Town.
