Birmingham score a 94th-minute equaliser to share the spoils in a six-goal thriller against Burnley at St Andrew's.

Birmingham City scored a 94th-minute equaliser to earn a point against high-flying Burnley this evening, sharing the spoils in a six-goal thriller at St Andrew's.

The visitors were the first to threaten the opposition goal when Ross Wallace picked out Kieran Trippier with a corner, but his subsequent volley flew high and wide.

Birmingham came close themselves in the 29th minute as Lee Novak cut in from the right before unleashing a powerful effort towards goal that Tom Heaton did well to hold on to.

Burnley took the lead just a minute later when Wallace's cross was knocked down into a dangerous area by Jonathan Spector, allowing Dean Marney to nod home a simple finish.

Marney came close again five minutes before the break when he had space to shoot from the edge of the box, but his effort deflected into the arms of Darren Randolph.

The hosts levelled things up shortly after the hour mark when Paul Robinson's deep free kick was flicked on for Federico Macheda to turn in from close range with his first touch.

Burnley were back ahead just four minutes later, however, as Trippier's free kick was met by Michael Duff, who nodded past Randolph to restore his side's advantage.

This time the lead lasted just two minutes before Birmingham pegged the Clarets back once more, Emyr Huws firing a fine 25-yard volley into the bottom corner.

Burnley looked to have secured all three points when they took the lead again with just four minutes of the match remaining as Sam Vokes converted Junior Stanislas's drilled cross from close range.

However, Birmingham levelled yet again in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Macheda netted his second of the game to earn his side a dramatic point.
