Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett has said that midfielder David Davis has a significant part to play in the club's remaining fixtures this season.
Davis has had his deal at St Andrew's extended by a further 12 months, tying him to the Blues until 2017, and Rowett has suggested that Davis will play an active part in the run-in as Birmingham try to secure a place in the playoffs.
The 42-year-old told BBC WM: "David's certainly going to be a strong player for us during this run-in.
"He controls games with his physicality - he holds people off and comes out with the ball. He's been very patient waiting for his chance and he was absolutely magnificent against Wolves.
"I've had half an eye on bringing him back in and, certainly away from home, playing with three midfielders isn't the worst way to go."
Since joining in August 2014, Davis has made 73 appearances for Birmingham in all competitions.
