Birmingham City have reportedly joined the race to sign Swedish forward Joel Mumbongo.
The 19-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the past but as it stands, neither club have opted to make a move.
However, according to the Birmingham Mail, Birmingham have had Mumbongo on trial with the view of bringing in the youngster before the end of the summer window.
The West Midlands outfit have just had their transfer embargo partially lifted, and it gives manager Garry Monk a small window of opportunity to strengthen his squad in an attempt to avoid another relegation battle in the Championship.
Mumbongo currently represents Utsiktens, with the player having just one year remaining on his contract at the Swedish minnows.
