Birmingham City manager Lee Clark is hopeful that the club will be able to keep hold of Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard beyond his one-month loan.
The 20-year-old scored four against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday to give the Blues all three points in the Championship clash.
Following his quick impact, Clark is determined to keep Lingard at St Andrew's after his initial loan deal, which expires on October 20.
"What we have got to try and do is continue to win games and for Jesse to enjoy his football to make the stay longer," Clark told the Birmingham Mail.
"That's what we aim to do because, you know, we certainly don't want him here just for the short term. We want him here for as long as possible."
Lingard is not expected to feature in Birmingham's League Cup match against Swansea City this week due to United's request that the forward is not cup-tied.
