Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has clarified the club's interest in Inverness Caledonian Thistle's Graeme Shinnie.
The left-back is younger brother to current Birmingham player Andrew Shinnie, which has only increased rumours of a January move for the 23-year-old.
However, Rowett has revealed that, although the club have been monitoring him, he is not a top-priority target in next month's transfer window.
"We have probably got a list of 30 players coming up to January, a list of three or four who would be our first choice targets," Rowett told the club website. "I would say he would be in the group after that.
"We had some good reports so we sent Darren Robinson, our head of performance, to go and have not a final look, just to watch him.
"He is not out of contract until the summer so there would probably be a fee in January to take him so, therefore, we would have to decide whether it would be poignant for us at this point of the season."
Shinnie has played every single minute of the Scottish Premiership season for Caley Thistle.
