Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has revealed that he hopes to appoint a new manager by the end of today.
The Championship club have been searching for a new coach following the departure of Ian Holloway, who opted for a move to Crystal Palace.
The Seasiders have compiled a list of potential candidates and are hoping to make a swift appointment by securing a new boss at some point today, Oyston told Sky Sports News.
Meanwhile, caretaker manager Steve Thompson has claimed that he would like to take on the full-time role.
