Blackpool and Bristol City played out a goalless draw at Bloomfield Road in their Championship clash this afternoon.
The home side started strongly and Liam Fontaine had to be at his best defensively to stop Matt Derbyshire from firing an effort at goal after he found space inside the box.
Fontaine was in action minutes later as Steven Davies's cross found the defender at the back post. He poked the ball across the face of goal but no City player was there to turn the ball in.
The visitors obtained a grip on the game and were carving out the best chances as Jon Stead saw his looping header saved well by Matthew Gilks.
Steven Davies had a great chance to give the visitors the lead after half time when he had time and space inside the box, but he could only head straight at Gilks.
Blackpool had been quiet going forward but Angel came within an inch of breaking the deadlock but his volley went just wide of the post.
Kirk Broadfoot came within inches of giving Paul Ince's side the lead but Tom Heaton managed to get a hand to the ball and palm it away as the game ended all square.
