Carlisle United have opted not to extend Nathan Eccleston's loan period with the club.
The 22-year-old Blackpool striker had spent the previous four weeks at Brunton Park, but manager Graham Kavanagh has conceded that he is not part of his plans for the future.
"With the results we were getting during the period of his loan it was difficult to get him into the team in the position we would have liked," he told the club's official website.
"He is a great lad who came here and worked extremely hard in training and in the games he was involved with. He's a good player and we wish well with his career as he goes on from here."
The centre-forward joined Blackpool last year from Premier League side Liverpool.
