Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has admitted that he may be forced to send Barry Ferguson on loan in search of first-team football.
The 34-year-old is reportedly unhappy at his lack of regular football in recent weeks, leading to suggestions that he will seek a move away from the club.
According to various reports, Holloway is prepared to sanction a move for the Scot, but only on a short-term basis.
"Barry and I have had a chat. He thinks he should be playing every week. He hasn't been nasty about it - he believes he needs to play every week," he told Sky Sports News.
"He's not used to not playing, so I might loan him out. He knows he's out of contract in the summer and he knows other people might want him. He's been totally respectful and he trained back in Blackpool on Saturday."
Ferguson joined the Seasiders from Birmingham City in 2011.
