Blackpool boss Paul Ince has admitted that he is still some way from completing his squad for the new Championship campaign.
However, the former Manchester United midfielder is hopeful that the club will complete their business before the start of the season on August 4.
"We have had a few issues, we still need eight or nine players. We are miles behind as far as preparation is concerned. It has been frustrating for myself," he told Sky Sports News.
"We're trying to get people in, the right type of people - not just the way they play, but their characters and the way they fit into the changing room and the culture of the lads. That's important.
"It's a bit of a rush and I don't think we'll be fully prepared but, at the end of the day, we have still got five or six from last season and the spirit is still there, so that gives us half a chance."
Meanwhile, Ince's son Thomas Ince is yet to depart the club despite a host of Premier League interest.
