Brett Ormerod appears to have admitted defeat in his bid to earn a new contract with Blackpool.
Despite being named on the list of players released by the Tangerines, the veteran striker had hoped to seal a fresh one-year deal with the club.
However, having had no indication that the Seasiders want him to remain at Bloomfield Road, the 35-year-old has confessed that he has instructed his agent to search for a new club.
"I'm not holding my breath," he told the Blackpool Gazette. "I haven't managed to come to an agreement with Blackpool.
"I've exchanged a few texts with Karl Oyston and have left it at that. I'm considering my options and I'm open to offers.
"My agent is speaking with clubs but nothing is lined up yet. I'm just back from two weeks away and I'll see what my career options are."
Ormerod has scored 61 goals in two spells with Ian Holloway's side.
