Bolton Wanderers have been promoted to the Championship after their 3-0 win over Peterborough United on Sunday.
The Trotters were two points ahead of Fleetwood Town in second place prior to the final round of League One fixtures.
However, goals from Jem Karacan, David Wheater and Adam le Fondre made sure that Bolton hung on to the final automatic promotion slot.
The result sees Bolton bounce back to the second tier of English football just one year after they were relegated, joining champions Sheffield United out of League One.
The four teams who will contest the League One playoffs are Scunthorpe United, Fleetwood, Bradford City and Millwall, while Port Vale have joined Swindon Town, Coventry City and Chesterfield in being relegated to League Two.
