Reports have claimed that Fabrice Muamba will meet with a specialist in Belgium next week to discuss whether he will be able to continue his career in football.
The Bolton Wanderers midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during an FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur in March but has surprised doctors with the early stages of his recovery.
Muamba will meet cardiologist Pedro Brugada to learn whether his body could take the strains of returning to elite football.
The 24-year-old will undergo tests to find out the strength of his heart five months after it stopped at White Hart Lane.
Muamba recently insisted that he is "getting stronger every day" since the cardiac arrest.
