New Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has revealed that he has had his wish to bring Lennie Lawrence and Curtis Fleming to the Reebok Stadium turned down by Crystal Palace.
Freedman swapped Palace for Bolton last week following a 21-month stint in charge at Selhurst Park.
The Scot had been keen to take coaches Lawrence and Fleming with him, only to have been rebuffed by his former employers.
"In Lennie and Curtis's situation, [Palace] feel that, right now, it's not the right time to let them talk to us," Freedman told BBC Radio Manchester. "We've made the call and it's been rejected. We'll just watch this space.
"There's been discussions but I want to do it the correct way and the professional way."
The duo are currently in charge of Palace while the search for a new manager takes place.
