Bolton defender David Wheater has said that former teammate Tuncay is "a great acquisition" for the Trotters.
The 24-year-old played alongside the Turkish star for two years at Middlesbrough and said he is delighted that the striker has joined Bolton on both a personal and professional level.
"When he was at Middlesbrough I saw what he can do in training every day," Wheater told the club's official website. "Some things are unbelievable and he takes those attributes onto the pitch.
"He likes to play just behind the main striker and he will offer us a bit more flair up front. We have some good strikers here and Tuncay has added to that.
"I was delighted when I heard he was joining us. I was happy from a personal point of view and also from the team's perspective. He is a great acquisition for us."
The Turkey international spent just six months in the German Bundesliga after leaving Stoke City in January.
