Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has suggested that the club could soon sign Aston Villa defender Stephen Warnock on loan.
The 30-year-old is thought to be keen on a move back to his native North-West after falling down the pecking order at Villa Park under new boss Paul Lambert.
"Stephen is a player who you know we've looked at before," Coyle told The Bolton News. "He's a real good player, a good type, and I'm not sure whether that's been regurgitated or not.
"He is definitely a good player but that's where we are with that at the moment. Ultimately, finance will dictate what happens but it's an avenue we'll look at."
Warnock signed a four-year deal with Villa after leaving Blackburn Rovers in 2009.
