Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has revealed that Chris Eagles turned down the chance to leave the club on loan last week.
The 28-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, has found his first-team opportunities limited this season at the Reebok Stadium.
Despite temporary offers from Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town, Eagles decided to stay with the Trotters.
"There was a Charlton phone call and we said to him he could go and speak with them and play some football, which he didn't take up," Freedman told the Bolton News.
"Then we had a call from Ipswich, but Chris felt the location wasn't right for him.
"I can't guarantee him football right now so I thought it right to give him the chance, but he didn't take it."
Eagles joined Bolton from Burnley in 2011.
