Bournemouth came from two goals down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in an entertaining battle between two newly-promoted Premier League clubs at the City Ground this afternoon.

Jaidon Anthony scored a dramatic 87th-minute winner for the Cherries, completing a remarkable turnaround which gives Bournemouth their second win of the season and their first since sacking Scott Parker earlier this week.

With caretaker boss Gary O'Neil in the dugout, it looked as though Bournemouth were heading for a certain defeat when Forest - the most active club during the recent summer transfer window - took a 2-0 lead into half time.

One of Forest's most notable new arrivals created the first as Morgan Gibbs-White sent a cross into the box which fellow summer signing Cheikhou Kouyate headed home.

It was one of the stars of last season who doubled the advantage just before half time, with Brennan Johnson firing home from the penalty spot after VAR ruled that Lloyd Kelly had handled inside the box.

However, Bournemouth began their comeback six minutes into the second half when Philip Billing fired home a long-range strike to halve the deficit, thundering his effort past the keeper from 30 yards.

Parity was then restored shortly after the hour mark, and in some style too as Dominic Solanke brought up his 50th goal for the club with an inventive overhead kick from inside the area.

Solanke then turned provider for the winner, stealing the ball off Scott McKenna before laying it on for Anthony to complete the turnaround and hand Bournemouth a valuable three points.

The Cherries have now taken four points from a possible six since sacking Parker in the wake of their 9-0 defeat to Liverpool last weekend, whereas Forest sit in the relegation zone with four points from their opening six games. body check tags ::
