Eddie Howe reflects on "deserved" win

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that his side pulled off "a huge win" in their late defeat of Newcastle United.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised his side for pulling off "a huge win" at Newcastle United this afternoon.

The two sides looked to be heading for a goalless draw at St James' Park, only for Steve Cook to snatch all three points for the Cherries with a header two minutes into injury time.

The result made it three wins in four for Howe's side in all competitions, in the process lifting them out of the relegation zone and up to 16th in the Premier League table.

"It's a huge win," Howe told reporters afterwards. "Both sides could have won it. First half they were better than us but we upped our game. We should have sealed the game earlier, we haven't been clinical enough all season but then we got the points we deserved in the end.

"Back-to-back away wins are huge, our record has not been good. You need to know that you can win anywhere.

"It's never nice being in the bottom three but this sets us up nicely, being out of the bottom three before the break."

Next up for Howe's side after the international break is a home encounter with Huddersfield Town.
