Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits that his team's 2-0 win over Watford was made easier by Gabriele Angella's red card inside the opening minute.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that Gabriele Angella's early red card made his side's victory over Watford easier.

Hornets defender Angella was controversially dismissed with just 30 seconds on the clock at Dean Court on Friday night for a foul on Callum Wilson.

With an extra man on the field, the Cherries eventually secured a 2-0 win to keep alive their hopes of automatic promotion.

"For us, it changed the game," Howe is quoted as saying by the Bournemouth Echo. "We were nervy starters, there was no denying that. It was almost as if the 10 men had added a pressure for us and we didn't really respond to that as well as we would have hoped. But the goal settled us and the second half was really enjoyable to watch."

Bournemouth continue their Championship campaign next Saturday when they make the trip to Wigan Athletic.
