Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson scored with 10 minutes to go as the Cherries came from behind twice to salvage a draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton led twice, first through Anthony Knockaert and later thanks to Glenn Murray, but Wilson's scrappy goal from a corner was enough to earn the south coast outfit a draw.

The home side dominated the opening period of the game and led after five minutes as Jose Izquierdo wriggled through the Bournemouth defence and delivered a cross which was turned in from an acute angle by Knockaert.

The teams sparred through much of the first half as Wilson was unable to get anything on a teasing Charlie Daniels cross. Pascal Gross, who was arguably Brighton's best player, then stroked the ball to Murray, whose shot was tipped wide by Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

Ibe had a shot parried at the other end by Mathew Ryan, but the equaliser came from Steve Cook, whose glancing header dipped over Ryan and clipped the bar before rippling the net - a goal which came immediately after Cook had wasted a previous chance.

Brighton had a chance to take the lead again just before half time as Gross and Izquierdo combined, but Begovic's outstretched leg was enough to send the ball wide.

The Seagulls struck early in the second half, however, as Izquierdo's ball inside to Murray allowed the striker time and space to fire past Bournemouth's hapless defenders on the line.

Ibe and Wilson combined as the former failed to direct a chip past Ryan, and Bournemouth looked to have more chances going forward, but with no end product.

Brighton should have made it 3-1 on 68 minutes as Izquierdo led a Brighton counter-attack supported by Davy Propper, but the former chose to go it alone and paid the price as Begovic stopped the Colombian's weak shot.

Bournemouth's second equaliser came on 79 minutes when Brighton failed to clear a corner - Daniels had an effort on goal before the ball came off right-back Adam Smith and clipped Wilson before heading in.

The result sees Bournemouth leapfrog Southampton into 13th, while Brighton were unable to overtake Huddersfield Town and remain 12th.
