Bournemouth 'discover' Valencia's decision over Max Aarons permanent transfer

Bournemouth reportedly learn whether La Liga side Valencia will pursue a permanent transfer for Cherries loanee Max Aarons.

Valencia have reportedly decided against signing Bournemouth loanee Max Aarons on a permanent deal.

Bournemouth sanctioned Aarons's departure in the winter transfer window, allowing the full-back to join Valencia on loan until the end of the season.

Los Che were keen to bolster the right side of their defence after Thierry Correia suffered a season-ending knee injury in October.

Unfortunately for Aarons, he has struggled for game time under Valencia boss Carlos Corberan, having been restricted to just two La Liga appearances since he arrived from Bournemouth.

Valencia make Aarons decision

Corberan has preferred to utilise Dimitri Foulquier as his first-choice right-back, leaving Aarons to settle for a backup role in the Valencia squad.

There is an option in the loan agreement for Valencia to convert Aarons's temporary move into a permanent deal for €9m (£7.7m).

However, according to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, Valencia have already decided that they will not exercise their buy option, given the lack of game time that Aarons has experienced during his short time in Spain.

As a result, the former England Under-21 international will return to Bournemouth once his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

Does Aarons have a future at Bournemouth?

Aarons was allowed to leave Bournemouth in January after being deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Andoni Iraola.

The 25-year-old was restricted to just three Premier League appearances in the first half of the season, as the Bournemouth boss preferred to use Julian Araujo and Adam Smith.

With that in mind, it is difficult to see a way back for Aarons at the Vitality Stadium, with the full-back likely to depart in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, journalist Ekrem Konur reported that Atalanta BC, Real Betis and Sevilla are among the clubs interested in signing Aarons on a loan deal.

However, it remains to be seen whether Bournemouth will be willing to entertain another loan exit, or whether they will try to find a new permanent home for the player that they signed from Norwich City in the summer of 2023. body check tags ::
