Bournemouth midfielder Jake McCarthy has extended his contract with the Championship club until 2017.
The 18-year-old's previous deal at Dean Court had been due to expire at the end of the season.
Having joined the club at the age of 12, McCarthy is hopeful that he will soon be able to call himself a Premier League player.
"I've been here since the club were in League One and now they're sitting at the top of the Championship," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously they did well last season, but I never would have thought that as a youngster at 12 I'd be sat here now talking about possibly getting to the Premier League.
"It's a great feeling to be involved with the club and hopefully we can now hit the heights."
McCarthy has yet to feature for the Cherries at senior level.
