Brazil international David Luiz has confirmed that he broke his nose during his country's Confederations Cup clash with Mexico.
The Chelsea man rose from the ground with blood seeping from his nose following a collision with teammate Thiago Silva during the first half of the match.
Luiz completed the full 90 minutes, with the extent of his injury confirmed after the game.
"Yes, my nose is broken, but that's part of the game," he told reporters. "Now I'll have to wait until the end of the competition and undergo a surgery to fix it."
Brazil emerged 2-0 winners courtesy of goals from Neymar and former Manchester City and Everton forward Jo.
