Real Madrid defender Marcelo has spoken of his delight at being recalled to the Brazil squad for their upcoming friendlies.
The 27-year-old has not featured for the Selecao since their humiliating 7-1 defeat against Germany in last year's World Cup.
"I'm so happy to be here. This call-up is like the first of my career," he told reporters. "The Brazilian national team will always be special in the career of every player. Only those who make it by here can imagine what it feels like to see your name in the squad.
"The Brazilian team is made up of great players who are also great friends. Here the environment is one of great professionalism, in which everyone can feel comfortable and battle respectfully for a place in the side.
"I just want to train very hard in order to keep my place in the squad. The most important thing is being here."
Marcelo has scored four goals in his 37 previous appearances for Brazil.
