Brentford to groundshare with Queens Park Rangers?

A report claims that Brentford could groundshare with Queens Park Rangers if they earn promotion, as their current Griffin Park home does not meet top-flight requirements

Brentford have reportedly reached an agreement to groundshare with West London rivals Queens Park Rangers, should they be promoted to the Premier League this season.

The Bees' current 12,763-capacity Griffin Park home does not meet top-flight requirements, meaning that renovations would be needed to bring it in line with the rules currently in place.

A report in the London Evening Standard suggests that, while Brentford would be willing to splash out £3m on bringing their current ground up to scratch, relocating to a temporary stadium could be on the cards.

It is claimed that Chelsea have already ruled out Stamford Bridge as an option, while no agreement has been reached with Fulham.

Twickenham Stoop, which plays host to rugby union side Harlequins, is also out of the question, but QPR's Loftus Road is a possibility should Brentford prevail in the end-of-season playoffs.

Mark Warburton's men meet Middlesbrough in the first leg of their semi-final affair on Friday night.
